Yi Wang
Yi graduated from Soochow University, completed the STARTALK Teacher Program at the University of Washington Language Learning Center, and participated in Stanford University's Continuing Studies Program on "The Socially Just World Language Classroom." She holds a Senior Chinese Language Teacher certification from IPA.
Yi joins 91ÊÓÆµ after serving as a Chinese teacher at Seattle Waldorf High School for seven years, where her students received numerous awards in state and national competitions and showcases. Previously, Yi taught at Eton House International School as the Chinese Coordinator and advanced-level IB instructor for two years. Before that, she taught Chinese in China for 19 years and served as Deputy Principal.
Yi has been recognized through honors such as the Global Education Model Award and Outstanding Achievement in Cultural Activity Design for K-12 Chinese Classrooms. She believes that language learning should be engaging and relevant, allowing students to develop meaningful understandings of the world. Yi chose 91ÊÓÆµ School because of its inclusive community and commitment to fostering global citizenship. She is excited to join a team that values diversity and encourages innovative educational approaches, aligning with her belief in nurturing global citizens.
